Impressive stadium over all, but had a couple of gripes. The electronic entry gates would not let me in and the attendant steward did not want to open up the standard mechanical gate next to it to let me through with kick-off fast approaching. She insisted she could not do so because the ticket had to activate the e-gate!!! I wasn''t the only one whose e-ticket wouldn''t let them pass through the e-gates. I eventually got in at the 12th attempt, after trying three different e-gates. What a palaver! Terrible system, and not helped by unhelpful stewarding. Stewards also didn''t know if match programmes were available inside the ground or not ??!!!. Secondly the leg room in my seat was very tight - worse than most grounds I have been to. Portsmouth, though only just above the relegation zone, and suffering several injury absences already, decided to ''rest'' three or four key players, including Lang, Murphy and Potts who all usually start. All three were brought on in 63rd minute when they were 0-3 down!! Not sure I could see the point of that given that Pompey have 8 matches to play in January. Bristol City played well with Twine linking well with Naqi Wells and Anis Mehmeti, who was the best player out there apart from Pompey''s keeper who did really well to keep the score down. Pompey only started three regular 1st team players so the result was perhaps no great surprise. Pompey fans sold out one end of the ground completely, which could not be said for the three BCFC stands in the ground. They also sang throughout unlike the home fans.
