Pre Match standings::- Bristol Rivers 20th/ 17 points : Scunthorpe United 19th/ 18 points. A fairly easy drive from the Midlands on a glorious day. Blue sky, barely a cloud, sun shining down and a new ground to see. What could be better? Well for a start off it would help if I could actually find the ground! The Memorial is nestled in a very residential area and after driving in circles for the best part of an hour, at some points actually being able to see the ground over the rooftops but being unable to get close, I decided to park up and ask for directions. It''s fair to say that parking is a big problem as the streets are all residential. I couldn''t see any Match Day Parking signs as around most grounds and it would appear that if you drive you need to park on the street, being careful not to park in Residents Only spaces. I managed to squeeze into a space in Kellaway Avenue, which runs through Horfield Common, just off the Gloucester Rd. If this is a regular problem (as it seems to be because even the Rovers website advises fans to arrive early) then surely the best solution, I think, would be for the council to lose a few metres of grass from either side of the Common and paint in proper diagonal lines thereby creating twice as many spaces. There, I''ve sorted it. Simple. After parking up I followed the crowd down Beaufort Rd into Filton Avenue and into the Memorial Ground. End of Season :- Bristol Rovers finished 15th on 54 points. Scunthorpe United finished 23rd on 46 points and were relegated to League Two.
