Match no. 1297. Stevenage were 1-0 ahead and reasonably comfortable when Green of Lincoln was sent off on 52 miuntes. 6 minutes later they equalised and Borough panicked, firstly giving away a penalty that proved to be the winning goal and then Wilkinson got a straight red to even up the numbers. Stevenage's second-half display was spectacularly inept. Green's two yellow cards came in the space of 7 minutes and were for twice encroaching into the centre-circle as Stevenage tried to start the second-half and then for kicking the ball away after conceding a free-kick. Farman, the Lincoln goalie, had a habit of placing the ball for goal-kicks at least a yard outside the 6-yard box. He did this at least 3 times without the officials noticing despite the desperate efforts of Stevenage fans to draw their attention to it. He also blatantly wasted time at every opportunity but was not yellow-carded for it until the third minute of added time.
