We were up at 0700am. Marlyn and Jessica set off for Corby for their dancing and we had some breakfast. All bags had been packed the night before. After a quick stop at the Co-Op we were on our way and the journey went well. I almost missed the M50 turn off and we missed the direct route to Pontypool but by 1145 we were at our Premier Inn. After a quick 10 minute sit down we went over the road to a McDonalds and I was given the worst hot chocolate I had ever had. I swapped it for an orange juice. Heather was amused by the Welsh accent. I said we were like being in the middle of a Gavin & Stacey episode with me as Uncle Bryn! We tried to find the Pub called the Little Crown which was reputed to have good food and it proved to be very elusive. I went up the steepest hill I have ever tried apart from Hard Knott Pass. It was tucked away up a back street in a rough area. Having checked it inside I decided we should try our luck in Cardiff instead. Maybe a Chinese or something. We made our way to Cardiff and found the ground thanks to some navigating by Heather on her iPhone. We went straight in and realised that there was 45 minutes until kick off. The ground was empty. I took a few photographs.ge By 1450 I was disappointed to see the ground only one quarter full. I had expected a bigger crowd. Brighton had filled their allocation. Made me wonder why more tickets had not been made available for them. The first half was very boring with stalemate happening. Only one clear cut chance which Brighton fluffed after a mistake by the Cardiff defence. During the half time interval I chatted to some Cardiff supporters as they were asking about my fish. They were a friendly bunch. The second half was more exciting and we thought Brighton had scored but it must have been side netting. Right at the end a player called Bong was sent off after a nasty two footed challenge. At the final whistle we left. It had got cold and we had a wait in the car until the cars park cars started to move more freely. In the evening we had a lovely pizza express meal including free puddings. Then back to our Premier Inn hotel where we watched Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
