Brilliant night out (combined with Charlie business trip and hotel in Hemel). The ground is crammed in between terraced houses on 3 sides and an elevated dual carriageway on the other making the ground asymmetrical. The approaches are real old style (like the 1920''s) and inside is no more modern. The seats are really cramped and lots of roof support pylons obstructing the view but the atmosphere was fantastic with lots of Come on, Looo-un!! The blokes behind us were hilarious. One was for sure a Professor of STBO (stating the bleedin'' obvious) but his stories . . . 1) He recalled the one and only time his wife had been to a match. She''d bought an entire kit. But it was the last game of the season and so by the next match the kit had changed. 2) Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of that game when Oxford scored then we di and then we got another. Brilliant story. And he was right. I checked. York were atrocious. Wasting time from the kick off and continuing to do so throughout. I hope they get relegated. The referee was absolutely awful. But he did give us one laugh. Trying to use disappearing spray to mark the wall position of a free kick he managed to spray it all down his leg and then used so much that the mark was still there 10 minutes later. A swift half hour drive back to Hemel, a couple of Beck''s Viers and to sleep with a smile.
