The last time I saw Newport play at home in the League was on 26/04/1988 when Wolves won promotion to Div 3 and Newport were on the way to the Conference, Exile and all the rest. A surprise when Keith Curle's Carlisle took the lead but a penalty just before half time and a rocket in the second half saw Newport take 4th place in League 2. The Football League is better with Newport in it!
