A long journey and a bitterly cold day but a good little stadium out by the A12 and an entertaining match. The stadium is very new and similar in size/look to Chesterfield''s. Very impressed by the facilities for fans - there was a 5 piece covers band playing outside the south stand with hundreds of folk gathered round listening - some dancing. There are no pubs nearby but the south stand bar was open for beer which you could bring back outside. And at half time they opened the doors again to let the smokers and drinkers out if they wanted - all very civilised. Decent match - Orient had lots of possession but couldn''t score (they had 1 disallowed) whereas Colchester looked dangerous on the break and from set pieces. Eddie the Eagle mascot leapt around when the 2 Colchester goals went in, and the home fans banged a drum, bounced up and down and sang songs about ''Col U'' - which sounded strange but I guess it''s no different to Man U? There was a big turnout of Orient fans but they were extremely quiet throughout - makes you wonder why they bothered.
