3000 town fans one nil down with 5 minutes to go when first Williams and then Ward score

One of the best away days in recent times for me, Coventry where holding their annual legends day, in which they paraded a number of their former players at half time. The likes of Bobby Gould, Dave Bennett (ex-Swindon), Mickey Ginn and many others, including Swindon born Ernie Hunt, who began his career at the County Ground, he made a point of coming over to the Swindon fans to salute them after the parade, a gesture enjoyed by the 3,000+ travelling contigent. The game produced a superb performance from Swindon and a well deserved three points, though they did leave it late. Swindon playing their first game since the appointment of former Liverpool player Kevin MacDonald, got off to the worst possible start, as Frank Moussa opened the scoring in the second minute. Swindon's response was superb, and they took the game to Coventry, with Simon Ferry bringing the best out of Joe Murphy and Andy Williams spurning a good chance before half time. In the second half Swindon were greatful to their keeper wes Foderingham for a superb save from a Leon Clarke header, how Clarke would've loved to have got one over on his former club following his brief and contraversial spell at the County Ground, which culminated in a very public falling out with manager Paolo di Canio. With 5 minutes to go Swindon got a deserved equaliser when Williams scrambled home after Murphy parried an Adam Rooney effort, and then in stoppage time, Darren Ward's powerful header from a corner secured the points for Town. The Coventry set up is impressive. By far the best ground in League 1, the ground has a bar and casino attached to it, which was very popular amongst the travelling support, however, as much the set up is impressive, the model is one for clubs to follow IF, and it is a big if, they owned the ground, and made their revenue from the excellent facilities at the ground, as it is the club earn no revenue from the proceeds taken from the casino, and they pay rent on the ground, which has lead them into administration. Shame, such a shame to see a great club like that struggling, the potential of the place is amazing, and I'm sure a full house at the RICOH would be quite something.
