Nice ground parking easy enough in raod outside the ground if you get there early enough. Nice statue of Natt Lofthouse outside the ground. Good game Preston looked very tidy especially first half. Paulo Di Canio never far away from the news subbed the goalie after 20 mins un injured after being at fault for both early goals. Swindon rallied in the second half but it was too little too late. Good weekend away with Steve though and a nice curry whilst staying in Preston.

Parked in road outside ground. Statue of Nat Lofthouse outside the ground. Enjoyed the game and the ground was nice. Paulo Di Canio subbed his uninjured goal keeper 20 mins into the match as felt he was at fault for PNE's first 2 goals. Keeper was not very happy! and was constantly moaning to his assistant during the game. Preston were a yard quicker to the ball especially in first half and thoroughly deserved their victory. I was still feeling the effects of my fau curry from the previous night :-(

A game that will always be remembered for the substitution of Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham after 21 minutes by Paolo di Canio. This was the first meeting of the clubs since 1986, and therefore was a fixture I was keen to get too, though was disappointed to discover the National Football Museum, formerly housed at the ground, was no longer there. I arrived feeling confident, Swindon had started the season well, having been promoted from League 2 as champions in May, and had yet to concede as they travelled to Deepdale. However they had a terrible start, as a Foderingham clearence was charged down falling kindly for Akpo Sodje to fire the hosts in front after just 5 minutes. But 5 minutes later it got worse for Town as Nicky Wroe finished off a neat move to make it 2-0. Then came the big talking point, as di Canio, not one for keeping a low profile replaced Foderingham with younster Leigh Bedwell, making his first appearance for the club. The move incensed the travelling continent, not to mention Foderingham himself, for whilst he may have been at fault for the opening goal, was probably the first mistake he'd made since arriving at the club from Crystal Palace, almost a year earlier. di Canio cited Foderingham's 'unprofessional attitude' as the reason behind the substitution, but there was a general feeling amongst the Town fans at the game and those taking to Twitter, that he was being made an example of. Foderingham stormed straight off to the dressing room, which with the tunnel in the far corner meant a long trudge down the touch line, with the home support heckles in his ears, he took his anger out on a nearby water bottle before spending the second half with sat with the Swindon fans. Back to the game, and Stuart Beavon had added a third for Preston before half time, as Swindon fans feared a drubbing was on the cards. Half time came and the need of alcohol, saw me hit the bar to which I was surprised to discover that the club sponsored by Magners, were only selling cheap Cider in the bar, so had to settle for that (might of ended up staying there for the second half if they had Magners!!!) Swindon started the second half the brighter and Raffa de Vita pulled one back, before John Welsh fired through a crowded penalty area to seal the 4-1 victory for Preston. At the end of the game, I just couldn't wait to get out of there.
