On a stupidly hot afternoon in October it would have been no surprise if the game turned out to be a bit pedestrian. However that was far from the case, and AFC Wimbledon in particular were quickly out the traps and raced into an early lead. The combination of the fine weather, a comfortable lead and some nice flowing football meant that the atmosphere among the supporters was unusually relaxed for a league fixture. This is the closest league ground to home for me (just beating Selhurst Park to it) and whilst I've visited before when it was a non-league ground I'm delighted to see that little tweaks here and there now means that there is a definite league club feel about the place. Local knowledge definitely helps when it comes to getting to and from the ground and finding parking.
