Hull stayed firmly in the race for the play-offs as they beat relegation-battlers Doncaster. The home side took the lead when Richard Garcia tapped in before Franck Moussa equalised after James Coppinger effort came back off the post. Matty Fryatt restored Hull's lead when he powered in a penalty following Shelton Martis's foul on Corry Evans. Fryatt then grabbed the winner with a stooping header from a Liam Rosenior cross to secure the win for his side. The victory leaves the Tigers in eighth place and two points off the play-off zone with four games left. Meanwhile, defeat leaves Doncaster hovering five points above the drop zone as they remain without a win from their last eight games. Rovers showed plenty of effort against Hull but, as so often this season, they were undermined by their defensive frailties. They had gone behind after only nine minutes as they conceded their 73rd goal of the season. A scuffed Fryatt shot was palmed across his goal by keeper Gary Woods and winger Garcia was on hand to slot home. Rovers quickly equalised through Moussa only for a challenge from Martis on Evans to result in Fryatt scoring from the spot to again put Hull in the ascendancy. The home side had Garcia worryingly stretchered off, with his replacement Jamie Devitt helping set up Hull's third. The winger broke free down the right and neatly pulled the ball back to Rosenior, whose cross was met at the far post by a Fryatt header. Hull even had the luxury of substitute Aaron Mclean producing a glaring miss as he scuffed a shot wide when unmarked in the six-yard box.
