Seb, JK, DD, Dom & Deano all due to meet at New St to get the 9.05. Unfortunately Seb & JK''s train time is fixed - the others is open. Well no suprises we all turn up at new st on time except for our pal Dom (true to his Irish roots - late). Seb & JK have to run to get their train and luckily make it. The beers Seb & JK bought for everyone to drink, they have to drink between the 2 of them... bearing in mind its not even 9.30am! Well 2 hours & 6 bottles of bud & 4 cans of carling later... an unsurprisingly merry Seb & JK step off the train. The other lads are on the next train arriving 30mins later. Dom receive a little bit of stick for his tardiness, not for the 1st time! Quick pint in a pub by the station, then Dom suggest to go to a pub called the Punch & Judy. Well Dom certainly made up for his lateness with this call as this was undoubtedly the cheapest pub in the WORLD! 3 beers, a double brandy & coke came to £9.50 if i remember correctly. Had quite a few drinks in there. Whilst there we realised Doms favourite cockney villa fan mate was also in the pub with us. Anyway taxi down to near the Arkles, apparently headed off to the offy, stood outside the arkles drinking more cans & singing (video footage available if needed), walk through stanley park to the game. Osman scores 1st, 1-0 h/t. 2nd half starts and star striker Darren Bent gets the equaliser (good assist by downing - there i said it). Then after a Beckford shot bounces off the bar and Everton fans scream for a goal, Ashley Young breaks and plays Darren Bent through to slot home to make it 2-1, villa fans are delighted - everton are incensed. Then the next moment of controversy, Jagielka makes a run into the box, Makoun who appears to go for a challenge but pulls his leg away, Jagielka is then taken down by thin air and cheats his way to a penalty. Robbing scousers equalise, 2-2 f/t. Should''ve been a win but after 2 consecutive defeats to Bolton & Wolves, we didnt expect to get anything here. Back to the punch & judy after the game for a couple more brandies before Seb & JK decide enough is enough and go to get the train. Buy a Burger King, eat and then sleep on the train. Dave, Dom, Dean & friends stay behind for a couple more drinks and errrm scotsman-like activities apparently. Fair play. Another good away day. UTV!!! EDIT - Courtesy of davedave: Great day that was, my favourite away. For the record, Dom, Dean and myself also boogied to sound of Roy Orbison in one bar, and consumed what''s known as a cheeky vimto apparently, luckily Dean bought that round cuz it came to £18 for 3 drinks. I said to Dean, I''ll get the next round, and true to my word I did, 3 pints of the cheapest lager on offer!! Also, the Scotsman like activities were splendid, much more up market, I remember Dom saying let''s get that table over there, pointing towards a table in front of a stage, we expected a few dancers to delight us on the stage, but never happened and we sat there for 5 mins looking like a couple of nufta''s. Enough was enough and we went for a dance, £10, bargain in my opinion, then just made the train as the doors were closing. Train home was good as well, then I staggered hom along the canal as a short cut after the train from New St, good job I never fell in!!
