Game number 11. We decided to make this our first game where we travelled by train. I met Alec at Nottingham train station in order to get the train to Burton. Alec was running late - where is Tollhouse Hill? I had been to a Burton game in the past but the first time with Alec. Arrived at Burton and headed straight in to town. Had a pint in one pub. Sat outside on the sunshine. Had lunch at a cafe called Rumbletums* On route to the ground whilst wearing our Doing the 92 we were approaced by a number of people all asking how we were getting on with our journey. One of those people was a bloke called Dave. He had completed his 92 apart from 3 of the new grounds. He was telling us about his experiences. At the ground we decided that we would stand with the Bournemouth fans. Bournemouth only needed a win to be promoted to League 1. We thought we would get a better atmosphere with their fans. We were right. It was a pretty warm day and standing behind the goal we were in the direct sunlight. In my view it wasnt a great game but Bournemouth got the win they needed to be promoted. On the way out Dave who we had seen on the way in caught up with us. Whilst talking to us he said that he had a contact who could be able to get us Liverpool tickets. We exchanged numbers. Got the train back to Nottingham where Alec and I went our separate ways. On my train journey back to Sutton In Ashfield i was sat in a carriage full of drunk Forest fans. On my table i think i must have been sat with the deputy leader of the BNP. He was as racist as they come and inbetween chanting about Forest and against Derby he was listing his criminal convictions. I thought about getting off the train at every station but managed to last the journey up until the stop before home. The train was halted as a fight had broken out in the other carriage between Man Utd and Forest Fans. Two of them arrested. I had to walk part of the way home before my wife picked me up. This was to be our last trip of the 2009-2010 season *I was diagnosed with food poisoning and was quite ill for a few days.
