Manchester United away !! The start off the 2009 / 2010 premiership season !! Birmingham City are back in the premiership after a year away !! Instead off Saint Mary's it Old Trafford this year for the blues !! Chris and Daisy are on there way for a second time, big eck, Jimmy and Mat are making there old trafford debuts, Selfy is has been before but not to see his beloved Birmingham and not sure on Jenny !! Chris, Daisy and Jimmy get the bus and meet big eck and jenny in town. The group get a macces and then get the train to Manchester (via a change at Crewe), a bit off gambling on the way and the group arrive about 11am for the 1:30 kick off, surprise surprise there loads off Man Utd fans on the train also travelling up. Dougie picks up the group and takes them to the bar and grill pub, Chris gets in the boot as there is no room which isn't the best idea after being ill for a week !! The group arrive and sample some pre match beers. Chris is on bottles after being ill, the rest put the pints away. The Selfe brothers soon arrive at ''Salford Quays'' and meet up for some pre-match beers. The group start walking up about being 1pm, being huried up by Jenny the away journey planner, they arrive in the ground just before kick off, a few blues fans are turned away due to a ticket problem, the match soon begins. Man Utd start brighly but Birmingham do there best to hold out until around the half hour mark. Wayne Rooney's header hits a post but the re-bound drops nicely to him and he pokes home for 1-0 !! Birmingham raise there game straight away and Cameron Jerome's shot takes a slight deflection and is inches wide. The resulting corner is headed goalwarders by Franck Quedrue but is cleared off the line !! Darren Fletcher wastes a great chance to make it 2-0 before the break shooting wide when he really should have scored !! 1-0 at the break, big eck gets a loads off half time beers in as no tills are working he has to use exact change so buys 4 beers, unluckily Fletch does not relise this and stays in his seat and misses out on a drink !! The second half beings and is pretty even but as the game goes on Birmingham come more and more in to it. Keith Fahey shoots just wide and sub Christian Benitez making his Birmingham debuts goes mighty close, James McFadden play his through and from a tight angle he shoots towards the corner but Ben Foster makes a great save turning the ball wide !! That was the chance that got away !! Michael Owen on his Man Utd debut goes through on goal but Joe Hart, not for the first time makes a great save and turns the ball wide !! United win 1-0 !! The group, not too disheartened as some believe it may have been 4 or 5 before the game head for a burger and then back to the pub they had been before the game !! Dougie is now hammered and with his mrs and inlaws !! A bit off card playing takes place, Dougies father in law joins in while others watch the Spurs v Liverpool match on the big screen in the pub !! Times flys by and before they know it the group have to go !!!!!!! Dougie (who is coming back with the lads) disapears with Jimmy, the others try to get taxis, luckily taxis are secured and after a mad dash they all arrive in the nick off time !! Dougie and Jimmy arrive and Dougies interegates a young Man Utd fan for wearing a pink t-shirt !! The blues soccerette is on the train and big eck says hello. A few more games off cards, a bit off a sing song and the group are soon back in brum heading there own way !! Poor Daisy gets the train with hammered Dougie. Joe and Big Eck go there own way and Fletch and Jimmy go selly oak for a few games off pool that as usual Fletch wins and then on for there £35 Balti. Back home and to sleep by about 12pm after a long day for everyone !!
