Match no. 290. Due to fixture congestion this replay took place only 2 days after the first game at Anfield had ended in a 1-1 draw. The game kicked-off in a gale and torrential rain storm that was blowing directly into the faces of the Liverpool players and, with this advantage, Spurs were 3-0 ahead after 15 minutes, thus effectively deciding the game! Chivers (2) and Pratt were the scorers with Ian Callaghan replying for Liverpool in the second-half.
