My father was keen to go to support a good friend of his who was a Charlton Athletic season ticket holder, and also keen to see Bristol City striker Lee Trundle, who he had followed and admired for years. It's low location is quite unique and I remember the atmosphere before the game being really good, the music being really, really epic (still trying to find the music now). It was a right ol trek getting up the steps to the top of the main stand, one of those never-ending colums almost disconnected from the stadium outside. The main man Trundle bagged a goal along with Gavin Williams, this was a good time to catch Bristol City, playing their best football in recent years under Gary Johnson, the complete opposite for Charlton who were on the slide to relegation.
