Still my best ever football day. My birthday weekend in Cardiff with friends. The city was buzzing the night before because Cardiff ahd beaten QPR in their play-off. We spent the day of the game in the Walkabout pub whichw as full of Wolves and a superb atmosphere. Onyl 3 of us had tickets so we set off leaving the others to watch the game on TV. At the match the atmosphere was electric helped along by more pre-match beer. Kennedy socred after jsut 6 minutes and 2 other goals gave us a 3-0 half time lead, though Sheffield didn't paly badly, we were just awesome. Second half and the Blades win a penalty in 47 minutes. Is this the comeback .. Murray makes the save and we quietly start thinknig that perhaps we can stil ltake the game to extra time ;-) As Wolves fans you don't dare to suspect anything good will happen ! On 75 minutes a bloke behind us starts singing "Going Up, Going Up" and about a dozen of us as one tell him to shut up ! Sir Jack is shown on the big screen and at that momebt the Baldes ahve a great chance to score but its wide. With 5 minutes to go we start beleiving and the celebrating begins. The final whistle and everyone is hugging, cheering, some are crying. We eventually leave the stadium and on the way back to the Walkabout I bump into Robert Plant! He's celebrating as much as anyone and we don;t mention Led Zeppelin once. A perfect weekend and we'd finally made it to the Premier League.
