A miserable night at Sixfields saw Brighton go down 1-0 in a desperate match with few chances at either end. Brighton could perhaps count themselves unlucky to lose, but in truth there was very little quality on display. The Cobblers' goal was headed home by Hughes from a dubious free-kick just before half time, and Brighton were unlucky not to equalise when a goal was disallowed for pushing.   Sixfields is not a particularly memorable ground by any means - with 4 ordinary looking stands and a car-park style location. The Brighton fans were noisy throughout and deserved more from their side, but tonight it wasn't to be.
