Darlington's first match at the Reynolds Arena. George himself came onto the pitch and promised Premier League football. I like the town, my daughter livd and worked there, and years ago I had good friends at college who were from Darlington.  I hope no Darlo fans feel insulted if I state my belief that The Arena is the biggest white elephant in football. The gate for the first match remains, I think, the record. Why on earth was it not done like Northampton, four free-standing structures, each of which could be enlarged if the club were to soar up the Leagues?   How much of Darlo's present troubles stem from the ground?   I could see Darlington moving yet again.
