Memorable for the jingoistic atmosphere. A local scout troop circled the pitch per-match each with a Welsh Flag.  A minute to go the ref gave a free-kick in the centre circle and the players including the goalies headed toward the centre. Suddenly the ref blew the whistle and the players ran for the dressing room ! I stil lremember Paul the Eagle Edwards the Shrewsbury goalie, being slightly behind the rest, having a look of fear on his face. It turned out that the fans had been encouraged beforehand by Sam Hamman to run on the pitch at the end and the ref was taknig no chances and finished the game early. Cardiff went up as champions (I think it was confirmed on this day. A very intimidating atmosphere and one fo the first I've been to where the away fans left first !
