A win that secured our Play-off place. As ever the game memory is a tad hazy, but the day itself was just one of thsoe great football away days. Dawley Wolves arrive at Wolverhampton Station at 6am for the "special" to Exeter. We're all videoed and the train of coruse has no facilities for the long trip. A brief stop at Bristol Temple Meads and chorous's of "We are Wolves" arouses interest from the locals and one or two of the lads get off the train to "investigate" and don't get back on. We arrive at Exeter at 11.05 the game ahs kicked off and we're running to the ground. I find myself at the front of about 200 Wolves fans. Asknig for directions this bloke sends me off in one direction, but in a Charge of the Light Brigade" moment he points down the wrong street! I go running off closley followed by the group of fans straight down a cul-de-sac. By the time we get to the game we're 1 up ! Ont eh way back we start a Mexican wave on the station. One of the lads in the carriage falls asleep with his mouth open. Schoolboy error and an impromptu ash-tray is created. He eventually wakes up spluttering ! THe rest of teh carraige stays wide-awke for the long trip home. As its a football special they take us the long way round and accross Cannock Chase. Loads of the Cannock lads can't wait until we get to Wolverhampton only to bus it back to is being pulled almost every 5 minutes so lads can jump oyut and get home quicker. Sadly for the rest of us, no such luxury. A very long day, but a fun day.
