A battling performance from Brighton gave them a deserved 1-0 win, with Bas Savage netting the only goal midway through the first half. In truth it was a scrappy match, with a lack of quality in the final third from either team, but Brighton battled exceptionally, and frustrated the hosts all night with a solid defensive display.   This was my first proper away game (I won't count the Millenium Stadium visit). I'm not exactly proud of the fact that it's taken me so long to make an away game, but I knew from the moment I got there that I was hooked. Despite Priestfield being a very ordinary ground, the atmosphere and excitement for the away fan is a feeling which is rarely matched.
