I remember Tranmere playing well in both games i saw here but losing both. Took my mate wilf to one of them not sure which, the clash the following season was more memorable i think we were 1 up but after a poor back pass from mark ''yozza'' hughes sold Nixon short resulting in his dismisal. Hughes took his place between the sticks and saved the resulting penalty but couldnt prevent the eventual defeat Their was a programme shop around the corner but i''m not sure if that was also the club shop just remember buying an old programme for a fixture between the sides for 50p which seemed expensive at the time!
