Arrived at the ground as part of a fairly large Charlton following, with all the normal (for the time) excitement and anticipation of a 3rd round FA Cup tie. Over 10,000 at the Racecourse Ground, and Wrexham hammered us 6-0. One of the worst days in a terrible season. Micky Vinter scored a hat-trick. I returned to the ground a fortnight later along with a threadbare handful of Charlton fans for a league game. Somewhat surprisingly we took a 2-0 lead, but still managed to lose 3-2, which felt even worse...
