games played at
Muntz Street by Birmingham City
(including 2 play-offs)
The club was a founder member of the Football League Division 2 in 1892 as Small Heath FC. The ground was notorious for its bumpy and muddy pitch and on more than one occasion FA Cup opponents offered the club financial inducements to switch venues. Muntz Street eventually became too small and the club (re-named as Birmingham FC in 1905) moved to St Andrewβs. During this period the club was also involved in Test Matches at the neutral venues of the Olive Grove and the Victoria Ground.
