GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"
This ground was originally planned to occupy the site of the Morfa Stadium. Located at SS66439563 and constructed on a redundant slag heap this had opened in September 1980 as the athletics track for Swansea Harriers AC and headquarters of the AAA of Wales. In the first design it was intended to turn the site through 90o and retain the original 2,070 seat covered stand at the west end but this was superseded by a larger project involving the construction of a totally new stadium. Provisional plans still placed it at the Morfa Stadium but it was eventually built on a greenfield site, a few hundred yards to the west, on the other side of the River Tawe.

Known as the New Stadium whilst it awaited a sponsor, the 20,500 seater stadium has a continuous cantilevered roof around the north, east and south sides linked to a single cantilevered roof on the west, main stand, side. Constructed by Swansea City Council, it is utilized by both Swansea City FC and Ospreys RUFC a combined Swansea/Neath team.

If driving
Leave the M4 at Junction 45 and take the A4067 towards the City Centre (Signposted A4067 South). Stay on the A4067 for around two and half miles and you will reach the stadium on your left. Car parking at the stadium is for permit holders only and most of the immediate residential areas around the stadium now have 'residents only' parking schemes in place. Do not park on the nearby Retail Park as you will end up with a ticket or be clamped!

So for the away/neutral supporters use the Park & Ride facility located at the Felindre Steel Works site, this is signposted off Junction 46, shortly after leaving the M4. The cost of parking there including transport by bus to and from the stadium is Β£6 per car and with dedicated buses back here you are off home quicker and without a ticket.
Public transport
Swansea High Street Station is on the main line. It is about two miles from the stadium. Regular local bus services routes 4, 4a, 120, 122, 125, and 132 from the train station to the stadium.

According to Football Ground guide website 'The Club are run a scheme at the moment, whereby if you have travelled by rail to Swansea (either as a home or away supporter), then you can get free bus travel from Swansea High Street Station to the stadium. This includes all bus services that run from the station past the stadium only and back again which is good idea (Football Ground guide Website) or walk it past a few good pubs on the way to the ground by walk up High street at the y junction go right up on Bridge Street at the cross road walk straight turn right into Neath Road. Proceed straight along Neath Road with the ground 10 minutes up the road unless you visit the pubs on the way so leave time!
