GROUND HISTORY

Located to the north east of the city and on the east bank of the River Wear, the pitch was sited on a rifle range north of Kepier Hospital. Durham City FC moved here in 1920 and the only facility was a small wooden seated stand, but as no map or diagram exists it is not known precisely where this was located.
The record attendance of 7,886 was set at an FA Cup Qualifying Round tie v. Darlington on December 3rd, 1921. Durham City moved to Holiday Park in 1923 and the area is now in use as a school playing field.
