One of the most popular features in the Football League Review was the team pictures that were either in the centre pages or sometimes sideways on the inside back cover.
Most were taken by Peter Robinson, whose unique style and way of lining the teams up was usually made up on the spot. He had mainly photographed bands before and to begin with had no idea about the traditional structure of three rows of players — which is what was so refreshing about these shots. Unfortunately, the Football League chose to destroy the originals and Peter doesn’t have any copies of his own.
