City had made it through to the 3rd round of the FA Cup and faced Premiership opposition in the form of Leicester City, so we decided to make the trip up to the East Midlands.   We stopped at a terrible Toby Carvery just south of Leicester where the manager tried to persuade us to have a roast that not even Giant Haystacks would've finished! After being universally slated for having selected the pub in the first place we crawled up the main dual carriageway into Leicester and went and parked in a side street once we spotted football fans.   There were plenty of City fans in Leicester on the day.  "Drink up thee Zider" rang out from one pub we passed. At this time the Walkers Stadium was very new and we walked past their old ground of Filbert St which was still there. The Walkers stadium reminded me very much of the Madjeski Stadium.  Lovely facilities but once we got inside it was very bland indeed.  One single tier running right the way round the ground. City fans were allocated a whole corner of the stadium and it was the biggest away following I had witnessed with around 4,000 City fans in attendance.  We were seated right at the back of the stand with our backs to the plexi-glass strip.  Unfortunately ours seemed to be the only seats in the whole stadium with a restricted view, due to being right next to an empty Sky TV "Offside" camera placement.  We were also right next to the segregation with the away fans.   City started off really brightly with Scott Murray giving their defence all sorts of problems. Just when we thought we had the game by the scruff of its neck, Leicester got the first goal on the stroke of halftime.   The song "You only sing when you're winning" must've been penned with Leicester fans in mind.  Up til this point they had been as quiet as mice.  Now they were suddenly cocky, arrogant and insults were flying back and forth across the small partition from their chavvy element.   We finally succumbed, going 0-2 down in the second half.   Getting out of Leicester was a crawl as all the surrounded roads leading onto the main road were gridlocked.
