A good excuse to visit The Hope, and catch up with Mr R (and MP from Nrw).
Pretty scruffy ground, with a fair amount of uncovered terracing & a variety of scaffolding-supported stands. £20 for terrace ticket.
Coby Rowe (formerly of Haringey Borough) started for Sutton. As did Ben Wyatt, former NCFC Youth-player.
Disappointing standard of play throughout, with little close passing or interplay.
Walsall''s 66th min winner came from Tyrese Shade, on-loan from Leicester C.

Left at about 12:00 and went to Tooting station to get the train to Sutton. Once at Sutton went to the Old Bank Inn pub to meet Gower and his brother for a couple of pints. First time I''ve seen Gower since before the COVID lockdown. Left the pub at about 14:15 and walked to the ground down the high street. The game itself was a dull game and had 0-0 written all over it with a neither side having many chances until Walsall scored at free kick on 65 odd minutes. We then had the majority of the ball and chances but couldn''t break down their defence which was well drilled. A point probably would have been a fair result but Walsall took their chance when it came and took the 3 points. Got the train back to Tooting and walked home getting home just after 18:00.
