French visitors left us at 05:00 and I managed a couple of hours more sleep before heading off to Crewe for my first train (of 6 for the day). Everything spot on time and me feeling less and less ''dead'' as the day went on. Blustery day but mostly bright (esp as I rode into Lincolnshire) and surprisingly mild. A brief wander around town before an easy 15 minutes stroll to Sincil Bank. This is yet another ''proper old school'' ground with rickety-looking stands and nothing really matching. But the home supporters were committed and noisy and generally good value. Funny even. Before the team cam e out they played an air-raid siren and the sounds of WW2 aeroplanes flying over and then played The Dam Busters March as the team came out. The game itself was very entertaining. Not great quality but fast and furious. The end result (Lincoln winning) was daylight robbery as Forest Green were the better team throughout. But I guess that''s football!! And we cherred the winner like we''d won the Champions League. Then for me it was a dash back tot he station for my 3 trains home. Got home around 21:30 and we were in bed soon after ten. Slept like road kill. Another great adventure tucked under the belt.
