TOTAL VISITS3 TRFC VISITS PLD2 W1 D1 L0 GF4 GA3. 1,367 given as the official away attendance but i''d been told we''d sold over 1500 tickets and Morecambe sent out several tanoys about away fans being in the home end to make themselves know for transfer so I think it''s safe to say we had over half the gate. Tranmere started strongly but wasted several guilt edged chances before against the run of play Morecambe scored with their first shot as Davies couldn''t get a strong enough hand on the shot. Performance levels swung as a result with rovers dropping 20% and Morecambe raising theirs 20% making it more even. Banks equalised heading in a free kick from the byline before becoming the villain with two poor clearances the second of which he clearly handled unnecessarily in the box but fortunately wasn''t penalised before rovers took the lead after zoom crossed for Gilmour to head home shortly before the break.In the second half Smith curled home a third as Tranmere started to look comfortable but then the ref intervened again, Rovers dropped too deep Morecambe sub Ellison knocked the ball past Buxton before changing direction and a tangle of legs which looked no fault but the ref gave the free kick from which the shrimps pulled one back. Both sides where evenly matched from a physical perspective but the ref didn''t see it that way and the stats for fouls in the last 15 minutes(plus six added minutes) would make interesting reading. From a rovers perspective Mullin up front appeared to be constantly fouled but couldn''t buy a free kick whilst free kicks were being given out for fun at the other end. Morecambe equalised and things looked bleak before happy Gilmour curled in a great winner in the 89th minute. At the whistle their was a mass melie resulting in rovers goalkeeping coach Nixon being given a red card but nothing could take the smiles of the faces of the travelling hoardes. The picture add on relates to a four page leaflet distributed on the official coaches, it consists of a nice cover, a full page advert by the sponsors, a grounds wordsearch for the kids and on the back the managers preview of the game
