Went to the game with Charlie and left my room at about 11:00 and walked down to the station. We then got the train to Crewe where we changed to get a train to Birmingham New Street and then changed again to get a train to Witton station but as we pulled out of the station the train kept stopping and starting only for us to go back to Birmingham because the train driver went the wrong way!!. We then pulled out of Birmingham again and managed to go the correct way this time and got to the station at 14:10. Went to Tesco to get lunch and then walked for about 5 mins to get to the ground. Walked around the ground, picked up tickets and went to the club shop before going into the ground at 14:45 ish. We were sat right next to the segregation and the Burton fans. The ground itself is a brilliant ground and one of premiership standard in my opinion. The game itself was a very good game with both teams looking to win the game for large parts of it and committing players forward in attacks. Burton started the game better and managed to get the ball into very good areas but didn't have the quality to put them away. Villa didn't really have any clear cut chances until they scored their 1st goal around about 30 mins. Slick passing by Villa allowed them to get up the pitch before the ball was threaded through to Adomah who then squared it to Hogan who tapped it in from about 5 yards. The teams went in at HT with Villa winning 1-0. A 10 mins patch at the start of the 2nd half was quite poor with no chances and no memorable moments. Villa then started picking up pace and started to get in behind the Burton defence and I could see a 2nd goal coming and it did around 65 mins. Snodgrass had the ball on the right before cutting back inside and crossing the ball to the back post where Adomah headed it in for 2-0. Villa deserved to be leading but about 5 mins later Burton got one back from a corner whereby Elmohamady smashed it into the top corner to scored an O.G and make it 2-1. Burton then applied a bit of pressure to get an equaliser but Villa extended their lead just before injury time through Grealish. The ball was played out wide and then put into the box where Grealish placed an acrobatic volley into the net to make it 3-1. It looked like the game was over then but about 2 mins into injury time Burton scored again after a ball was threaded through and the Burton player managed to chip it over the Villa keeper to make it 3-2. Burton had enough time to get an equaliser but didn't create any chances and the game finished 3-2. We then walked back to Witton station where we had to queue up for about 20 mins to get on the platform and get the train back to Birmingham. We then got the earlier train from Birmingham to Crewe as our one was cancelled for some reason. We then got the train from Crewe to Chester and got into the station at about 19:45. We then walked to the chippy and then got back to my room at about 20:10.
