GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"

Irthlingborough Diamonds FC moved to Nene Park in 1969 and constructed a covered terrace on the north side and a 350 seat stand on the south. In 1992 Rushden Town FC moved here from their Hayden Road ground and amalgamated with Irthlingborough Diamonds to form Rushden & Diamonds FC. In 1993 the stand and covering were demolished and 1,000 seat cantilever roofed stands subsequently built on each side of the pitch. A covered terrace, with its cantilevered roof linked to the stands with curved corners, opened in 1995 at the west end and a 2,000 seat stand (uncovered until 1998 when a curved cantilevered roof was installed) was built at the east end in 1996. The capacity at the start of the 2004/5 season was 6,441 with 4,641 seats and the pitch size was 111 x 75 yards.
