Comments :
just shy of 500 away fans made this the third highest home attendence of the season for ferriby although a long way short of the local derbies against York and Lincoln. We arrived at the ground around six and with it being a new ground for me i got in early and took some pics, a bitterly cold wind stung my fingers throughout the night and even the nice steak pies couldn't warm the extrematies. There was no segragation in place on the night and i found the locals friendly although i chose the best view for me in front of the snack bar(no comments) first half i was amongst the home support even though it was at the end we were attacking. As for the game rovers started brightly with a wild shot from Jennings being deflected by Norwood which forced a good save from the home keeper who was to have a good night despite the score. Ferriby took the lead against the run of play when a soft free kick was conceaded near the touchline and the cross was nodded home from close range, Tranmere restored parity when harris ran clear through the middle before cooly slotting home. Tranmere could count themselves lucky not to conceade a penalty before on the stroke of half time were awarded their own after a clumsy challange on a rovers player jogging out of the box, Hughes penalty was saved but Harris was alive to the loose ball and put rovers in front. It was a strange evening with rovers getting the rub of the green from the officials decisions which felt like a first this season with so many controversial performances against us lately. The trainline ran behind one stand high on an embankment and was very busy with a mixture of inter city, local and freight trains passing constantly. Second half Ferriby started brightly before rovers woke up stretching their lead somewhat fortuitously as Norwood appeared to be offside before a deep cross found cook to nod home, a report for the home side claimed Norwood had handled but not from my perspective. The home fans made a shout for another penalty but they fell on deaf ears, Cook clashed with a ferriby defender before being subbed. With vertually the last kick of the game another sub Mekki did some fine work before setting up Harris for his hatrick and put a gloss on the performance, whilst i think the result was deserved the scoreline was slightly flattering but a happy trip home
