Comments :
After a crushing 5-1 defeat at Darlo last week, City had to beat Altrincham who found themselves in the bottom three. Lee Hughes gave City the lead in the 8th minute with a bullet header on the end of a pinpoint Cieron Keane cross. Only 2 minutes later, Hughes found himself through on goal and was hauled over by Alan Goodall. The Altrincham defender was shown a straight red card. Cieron Keane then doubled their lead on the half hour mark as neat play saw Hughes slot in Keane on the left. The winger smashed his effort low and hard in to the bottom corner from 25 yards out, but the keeper did not cover himself in glory, seemingly diving over the top of the well placed shot. City started the second half well creating numerous chances but squandering them with gay abandon. Most comically was when 2 City players tackled each other when through on goal. City finally put the game to bed in the 75th minute as Ebby Nelson-Addy found himself free on a rebound from a Chekaine Steele header. He volleyed in to the roof of the net from only a yard out.
