Match no. 1247. Betway Cup. First visit to West Ham''s new ground, which they are calling the London Stadium. This should have been the opening fixture but, in the event, Hammers had played a Europa League 3rd qualifying round game there 3 days earlier. West Ham wore a retro all-black kit, with a Union Flag badge, in recognition of their founding club, Thames Ironworks. A nice touch, although no doubt commercially motivated as the kit will be worn in the FA Cup this season and was heavily marketed in the programme and at the stadium store.
