I set off in the van at 1700 expecting it to take longer to get to North Ferriby. I got to the village way too early and discovered that there was nowhere to get anything to eat. This was very bad news since I was absolutely starving! I parked up the van outside the ground. It was a free space since I was so early. I passed the time by reviewing my secret holiday videos. At 1810 I set off towards the ground. It is an amazing feat that North Ferriby which is essentially a village, have reached the highest level of non league football. This was to a match of two halves in which we would see every single Grimsby player in action. I was very interested in the new Winger Bolinawara. Also the two players bought from Scunthorpe. As it turned out Bolinawara was not to play. The first half we looked OK until Ferriby suddenly scored and soon later we were 2-0 down. The second half we started well and pulled a goal back immediately. Again they scored and again. It was all over. I left the ground wondering quite how we had managed to make so many defensive blunders and yet looked good in large parts of the match. Thankfully that was just a friendly!
