Guiseley was quite close so the coach only set off from Forest Pines at 1610.
There were three other people waiting at the red cafe. One of them sat next to me on the coach. One of the others who seemed a bit backward kept talking to the one next to me and became annoying as his conversation was meaningless.
Once off the motorway it seemed to take ages to get to the ground.
Once there I hunted down a fish and chip shop and had a hearty meal of fish and chips and a long battered sausage.
Back at the ground I got in and stood behind the goal. It was crammed with Grimsby fans but the terrace was not even slanted.
Somehow Guiseley managed to squirm an early goal but Grimsby equalised soon afterwards. Grimsby were by far the best team but somehow could not get a second goal.
The second half saw Guisely score again and in a repeat of the first half, soon later Grimsby equalised with a tremendous header from Padraig Amond - his 30th goal of the season. The match ended and I was extremely disappointed that we had not beaten such a lowly team. The coach journey home was a quiet one. Most people feeling somber because this was a massive 2 points dropped in Grimsby''s attempt to catch up with runaway leaders Cheltenham and Forest Green!
I have to admit, it had been quite an exciting match.
