COWDENBEATH Clarke (pen) 27 1-2 BRISTOL ROVERS Rose 68 Walker 84 ATTENDANCE: TBC Following a disappointing first half, in which they conceded a 27th minute penalty, Rovers hit back to beat Cowdenbeath 2-1 this evening thanks to second half goals from Danny Rose and Richard Walker. It was the second game of his side's Scottish tour, and first team coach Paul Trollope made seven changes to the team that faced Dunfermline on Tuesday. Ryan Green was given his first game of pre-season following his return from injury, whilst new signings Andy Williams and David Pipe were also included in the starting line-up alongside trialist Rose. Wearing their new green and black away kit for the first time, Rovers made a somewhat hesitant start, and the first chance fell to the home side with five minutes on the clock. However, Craig Hinton was on hand to block a shot from Stephen McConalgue. Pipe created a chance for Rovers when he burst down the right flank and sent in a low cross to Walker, who saw his first time effort well saved by David Hay. Williams went close to opening his Rovers account with a shot that just cleared the crossbar following a one-two with Walker, before Steve Phillips made his first save of the evening, gathering comfortably from Pat Scullion. The home side took the lead from the penalty spot on 27 minutes - Pat Clarke sending Phillips the wrong way after Byron Anthony had brought down John O'Neil just inside the area. Although Rose did have a shot blocked with five minutes remaining, a disappointing opening half ended with Rovers trailing. Trollope made three changes at the start of the second half, and immediately upped the tempo of the game. Sean Rigg, Rose and Walker all hit efforts wide of the target before the equaliser arrived on 68 minutes, in spectacular fashion. A cross from the left was met by Lambert and his header into the path of Rose was volleyed home by the former Manchester United player. Rovers continued to press and were rewarded after 84 minutes, when Lambert played the ball into the box and Walker turned and hit a shot which Hay could only help into the net. It was another good workout for Rovers ahead of the third game of their Scottish tour, and there were many positives to take from the match, including the fact that Craig Hinton played a full 90 minutes since the injury he picked up last April. Ryan Green also got a good hour of football under his belt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BRISTOL ROVERS: Steve Phillips, Ryan Green (Aaron Lescott 60), Byron Anthony (Steve Elliott 46), Craig Hinton, Joe Jacobson (Chris Carruthers 61), David Pipe (Sammy Igoe 57) Danny Rose (James Palmer 70), Craig Disley (Stuart Campbell 46), Sean Rigg (Lewis Haldane 61), Richard Walker, Andy Williams (Rickie Lambert 46) COWDENBEATH: David Hay, Mark Baxter, David Armstrong, John Armstrong, Kenny Adamson (Ondrej Matusik 47), John O'Neil (Danny Lennon 70), Mike Galloway, Pat Scullion, Martin McBride, Stephen McConalogue (Scott Dalziel 61), Pat Clarke
