| Having occupied an adjacent ground (the original Gresty Road) from 1897, Crewe Alexandra FC moved here in 1906. The facilities included a stand on each side of the pitch (at least one of which had been in use at the previous site) and some embankments and it was not until 1932 that a new main stand was constructed on the south side following a fire. The record attendance of 20,000 was set at the FA Cup 4th Round tie v. Tottenham Hotspur (2-2) on January 30th, 1960 and the venue was transformed in the 1990s with the construction of all-seat stands on all sides of the ground. At the start of the 2007/8 season the capacity was 10,100 and the pitch size was 112 x 74 yards. |
