Game number 30 and the last of season 3. As in keeping with our tradition we chose a match that would mean something to one of the sides. A win for Shrewsbury would secure automatic promotion for them. Knowing that the game would be a sell out we bought the tickets early and had them delivered. We still arrived at the ground early so we could buy our pin badges and take photographs of the stadium. We were allowed in to the empty stadium to take a few photos. We then drove around the corner to the local park and ride and got the bus in to town. We had lunch at the Wetherspoons followed by a walk around the town before heading back on the bus. On the way in to the ground Alec befriended the local farmer who told him all about his life - still, he did show us a quicker way in to the ground. As they were expecting a celebration the club were handing out balloons to all supporters. We decided to have a pint in the power scoccer league bar which is at the ground. The game wasn't overly exciting but Shrewsbury did manage to get a narrow 1-0 win to secure promotion to league 1. I thought that i should help them celebrate by joining in with the pitch invasion. A good end to the season!

A packed-out Meadow saw James Collins'' first half header send Shrewsbury back into League One. The game wasn''t anything special, but the pitch invasion that ensued afterwards will live long in the memory, and Jermaine Grandison''s singing. Dagenham didn''t really have much to play for, as emphasised by the tiny away following, which meant Shrews fans were allocated the North stand to accomodate extras. Having sold out by Monday I sat by an old geezer in Block 19. League One here we come!
