Up at 6.00, caught 8.00 from Euston (390019), arr Macclesfield 9.41. Cool dry and sunny, (having left rain in London). Quick visit to St Michaels, then to bus station for bus 10 to Bollington, and walked up to the canal and had a bacon toasty & tea at the Waterside cafe. Left at 10.55 to walk the towpath back to Macc. It got quite muddy in places but was a nice walk in the sun. Leaving the canal at 12.10 I popped into the Dolphin (a GBG pub) for a pint of Robinsons Unicorn (£2.70) and chatted to the landlady who told me they were organising a Jubilee street party. Walked into the centre and visited the Heritage centre and its silk history. Had time for a visit to Wetherspoons Society Rooms, a nicely refurbed old building, for sausage & mash and a pint of Dalesman. Chatted to a guy on next table about the building''s former life, and he''d been to college here as a lad. At 1.55 walked down to Moss Rose ground, paid £14 for seat in the stand, prog £2.50. Poor game, Macc having no idea of the passing game. They had a few chances from set pieces, but couldn''t recall them troubling the Burton keeper from open play. Burton were little better, but their first goal was well worked, the second from a defensive error in injury time. Booes from the home crowd as they are relegated from the League after 15 years. Some of the Burton fans had worn fancy dress, Mr Blobby was there! Brisk walk the mile back to the station in time for the 17.26 (221119) to Stoke, then joined many Arsenal fans on the 17.50 (390036) to Euston. Home by 20.30 walking back in the rain. Good day out.

smashing ground, lovely staff, one open terrace with standing 2 under cover with seats and standing and where we sat the Silk FM stand there was also standing which was fantastic.Passionate supporters but tinged with alot of sadness as unfortunately today The Silk men were relegated out of the league after 16 years which was a horrible feeling but hopefully they will bounce back. Didnt sample any food as couldnt get near the bar as understandably the supporters were getting very worked up and there was alot of commotion.ladies basic but fine.parked right outside ground but forgot to push wing mirror in and got back to find the whole lot smashed to simthereens! Loved the ground and wish them all the best !
