Nottingham Forest FC first used Nottinghamshire CCC’s Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in 1880 but only remained here for two years, moving to Park Side in Lenton, whilst Notts County FC took up residence at Trent Bridge in 1883.
The pitch was sited on the east side of the cricket square and the facilities, which were steadily improved, included covered terracing and seats on the east side, a stand and shallow banking at the south end and the provision of wooden duckboards and a temporary removable seated stand on the west side.

Notts County FC was not offered a renewal of the lease at Trent Bridge and moved out to Meadow Lane in 1910, taking the south stand with them and leaving the cricket club as sole occupants.
