GROUND HISTORY

Constructed on a brownfield site partially occupied by a gas works, the stadium originally consisted of a horseshoe shaped stand with a continuous cantilever roof on the north, east and south sides and a cantilever roofed main stand on the west. At a later stage stands were constructed in the northwest and southwest corners giving an all-seat capacity of 33,597 at the start of the 2007/8 season. The pitch size was 115 x 75 yards.

The Brunswick at 1 Railway Terrace with real ale beside the railway station and a good buffet menu with the Alexandra Hotel a real ale oasis at 203 Siddals Road is just two minutes past the Brunswick. They offer an ever changing selection of 6-8 guest ales from micro-breweries near and far plus the regular Harvest Pale from Castle Rock brewery in Nottingham Food is available all day every day in the form of βmade to orderβ cobs and fresh local pork and huntsman pies.

Leave the M1 at junction 28 and follow the A38 to Derby. Follow the signs for the A52 (Nottingham) off the Pentagon island in Derby. After 1 mile, look for a large Toys R U store on the right. Take the next left at signs for Wyvern shopping centre (the ground is sign posted from here!) and continue to the traffic island. Take the second exit, passing a Sainsbury's superstore on your right, and continue to the next traffic island. Take the first exit over the bridge, into Pride Park, and the stadium is on the left.
South
Leave the M1 at junction 25. At the roundabout, take the first left signposted Derby (A52). Stay on this road, for 5 miles, following the signs for the city centre. Look out for the signs for the Pride Park, and the signs for the travel lodge on your left. Take the next left into Wyvern shopping centre and continue to the traffic island. Take the first exit over the bridge, into Pride Park, and the stadium is on the left.
- Public transport
- The ground is about a 10 minute walk away from Derby railway station and is signposted. A new exit has been opened at the station which leads directly onto the retail park; you go up the stairs from the platform, turn right and walk to the end of the bridge. Go down the stairs, exit and turn right down Roundhouse Road. turn left at the roundabout, go straight down Riverside Road then turn right go down Pride Parkway then turn left into Derwent Parade then just before the ground turn right into the ground in front of you.
